Welcome to my website!
This summer term (2010), I am organizing two seminars at Saarbrücken with F.-O. Schreyer: Representation Theory and Galois Theory. While I am currently Frank-Olaf Schreyer's assistant at the Saarland University at Saarbrücken, I spent the summer term 2008 at the university of Erlangen as a visiting professor (,,Vertretungs-Professor'').
Next winter term (2010/11), I will teach a course for teacher students on analysis and where it comes from. This is part of my activity in A. Lambert's didactics working group.
Current research interests: Geometry and algebra software; didactics of mathematics; applications (e.g., in architecture).

In 2008 (the so-called German Year of Mathematics), I organized the interactive exhibition Imaginary 2008 together with the Oberwolfach Institute of Mathematics.
I was mainly involved in the mathematical content and the concept of the software Surfer used during this exhibition to allow non-mathematicians to experience algebraic surfaces intuitively. Surfer is inspired by my software surfex which is not as easy to use, but more powerful than our new software surfer,
Based on Surfer, several user-contests which searched for the most interesting surface took place. See, e.g.: Spektrum der Wissenschaft.
